Introducing our SEIU Healthcare Indigenous Internship Program (SIIP), a paid 12-month internship in our Organizing Department designed to build skills in union organizing, membership engagement, and leadership development while fighting for workers.
SIIP is part of our ongoing commitment to build respectful partnerships with Indigenous communities through career development, mentorship, and recognition of Indigenous perspectives.
Do you know a young, Indigenous person (First Nations, Métis, Inuit) aged 18 to 30, passionate about social justice and labour rights? Is that someone you?
You or Someone You Know Should:
- Self-identify as Indigenous (FirstNations, Inuit, or Métis)
- Be eligible to work in Canada
- Be between the ages of 18 – 30 years
- Have experience or familiarity with unions, organizing, political science, social work, labour and community organizing, activism, or related fields
