In 2020, SEIU Healthcare was the first union to publicly demand a $25 minimum wage for personal support workers. On February 7, 2023, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced $1.7B in funding for Canadian PSWs to make that $25 goal closer to reality.

Today, the Prime Minister visited our SEIU Healthcare head office in Richmond Hill to meet with PSWs, hear about their struggles, and discuss what all healthcare workers in Canada need to be better supported.
