Nursing Week 2020 is very special because it not only marks the 200th anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birthday, but during this crisis, everyone all around the world has witnessed the unwavering dedication, passion, and determination of all nurses fighting COVID-19 on the frontlines. You have received appreciation and gratitude for your commitment and bravery, but it is important to remember that even after this pandemic passes, frontline workers are always playing an important role in our health system and in our communities. We must always recognize this because while you are caring for the sick and vulnerable, you are still fighting for your rights.
We are launching the first issue of our Nursing Division magazine called Scrubs and Scopes. In the magazine, we are featuring your fellow nurses, providing the latest labour updates, showcasing our first Virtual Education Video Series, introducing your Nursing Division Executive Board, sharing important COVID-19 resources and tools, and so much more!
Tomorrow, your Nursing Division President Jackie Walker will be hosting our Facebook Live event which features a Nurses Panel, more details about Nurses Unite, and we will be opening the floor for your questions.

During this difficult time, it is important to take a moment to practice self-reflection, self-care, and self-appreciation. As a nurse, you play a vital role in our communities and you deserve to celebrate everything you do! Thank you for choosing a profession that helps keep Ontario safe and protected.
