If you have not already been informed, on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, The College of Nurses of Ontario experienced a “cybersecurity incident” where attackers hacked into important confidential information which may include full names, addresses, phone numbers, and even information regarding ongoing lawsuits by nurses.
The CNO failed to inform their members immediately on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, instead they posted a brief statement on the morning of Thursday, September 17, 2020. As of now, some of the CNO’s resources are unavailable online, to learn more please visit: http://www.cno.org/en/news/2020/september-2020/statement-cno-closure/
“I am overwhelmed with rage! The CNO delaying their responses puts all our Ontario nurses at risk. They now face the fear of the unknown with their personal information potentially being in the hands of someone dangerous with ill intentions. There was absolutely no reason for them to hold back this information.” – Jackie Walker
