Dear Premier Ford,
On behalf of SEIU Healthcare and our 60,000 members in Ontario, I am calling on the Ontario government to reconsider Bill 47.
If passed, this bill will be a setback for hard-working women and men in our province.
Every worker deserves wages that lift them out of poverty and help them raise a family.
Two days of paid leave give workers a hand up during unexpected emergencies that we all experience.
Equal pay for equal work is especially important to mothers with part-time jobs.
Workers deserve access to a union and a fair shake in bargaining with the boss.
This is a time of historically low unemployment and a growing economy. We can create good jobs and support workers.
It’s not too late to reconsider Bill 47 and listen those women and men struggling to get ahead. Listen to frontline healthcare workers who need stability and support, not chaos. Listen to the millions of vulnerable people who depend on your help, not just wealthy CEOs.
