As you have likely heard, Ontario now has two confirmed cases of the coronavirus and one presumptive case. Recently, we were in communication with officials at the Ministry of Health to discuss the developing cases.
Today, ten Ontario unions representing more than 250,000 thousand affected broader public sector employees, announced their intention to launch a coordinated Charter challenge against Bill 124. As well, the Ontario Labour movement, with the Power of Many, will be initiating an aggressive campaign to repeal Bill 124.

Paramedics working for County of Lambton Emergency Medical Services are launching a volunteer run program to provide transportation and care for patients in hospice and palliative care on short outings in their community. The program is being supported by SEIU Healthcare, the union that represents the paramedics, the County of Lambton, and St. Joseph’s Hospice.
SEIU Healthcare, along with the Ontario Federation of Labour (OFL), stands in solidarity with the more than 55,000 members of CUPE’s Ontario School Board Council of Unions (OSBCU) who are taking legal job action and have given the five days required notice of moving to a walkout on October 7, 2019.
