An important announcement from SEIU Healthcare President Sharleen Stewart:
As the president of SEIU Healthcare, I have been blessed to work alongside so many strong leaders who are passionate about the labour movement, the work that we do, and the frontline healthcare workers we so proudly represent.
Today, I am grateful to get the chance to work even closer with one of the strongest women I’ve ever known, Mina Amrith, as I appoint her as the Executive Vice President of SEIU Healthcare, effective immediately.
As a frontline nurse and union activist, Mina is bringing valuable perspective and experience to our executive team. She has been a registered practical nurse at Sunnybrook hospital for 21 years and has occupied the women’s seat on our executive board since 2016. Mina is also the chair of our women’s committee and has been a leader in our women’s advocate program.
I look forward to working alongside Mina, and together with our Secretary-Treasurer Tyler Downey and Nursing Division President Jackie Walker, we will continue to strengthen and grow your union.
